Scanning Medium Format 120 film slides.?
I recently got back into film with a Minolta Autocord MF 120 camera. I plan on buying a photo scanner rated at 9600x4800 dpi. So if the slide is 6cm x 6cm...that's 2.36" @ 4800 dpi... that's an 11,338 x 11338 pixel image? A 128mp image?
Am I doing something wrong with the math, or are the digital scans really that big?
Instead of all the calculations, get the HP 4010. It scans slides, negatives etc... and no calculations needed. Just put them on the special attachment and the Photoshop will scan them in.

Use can save them in jpeg without any considerable loss of clarity. Just add a 10% compression and no smoothing.
