DSC H20 Sony Camera Auto Focus?
I am wonder if you can control the focus on this. My friend and I were at a concert, and his camera (dsc h20, a camera I want to get) kept going out of focus, and focused. It was so annoying to watch the playback of the videos. However, when it is in focus the quality is really nice! I did not ask my friend because he does not know this camera too well, he borrowed it from his mother
By the looks of your concern, you are talking about the Auto Focus system in Video mode.
The auto focus system in video mode in most sony cybershot cameras are of default. Which basically means that you cannot set a certain focus range and stick with that all through out the video capture.
The auto focus in video mode detects high contrast objects, like say for example a lady bug came flying across the lens of the camera where the background is a green field, it will obviously focus on the lady bug as it is closest to the lens and has a deeper contrast with regards to the monotonic color of the green field.
This also happens when you for example, stands on the an area and try moving forward and backward in reference to the camera... it will try to regain focus as it focuses on a subject which is you.
Try placing the camera on an area where nothing much is going on, like people walking by etc, as it will always try to focus onto something and confusing the camera to as where it will focus next.
